Do you want to learn more about the Black British experience without necessarily only discussing racism and colonialism? Are you currently in London or planning to visit in the next few months? Then the Staying Power: Photographs of Black British Experience 1950s-1990s might be an exhibition for you!
Hosted at both the Black Cultural Archive in Brixton (until 30th June) and the Victoria and Albert Museum (from 16th February until 24th May), the exhibition features over 100 images spanning five decades, collected and arranged by 17 artists.
You can view some of these beautiful portraits of Black family and community life in the British Isles via the Guardian here. Check our website in early April 2015 for a review of the expo!
