My Children! My Africa!

Londoners hurry!!! There is still just enough time to book your ticket to see My Africa! My Children! which is currently playing at the Tristan Bates theatre until the 16th May 2015.

The play – by Athol Fugard – is set in South Africa in the 1980s during the apartheid regime and was first staged in 1989. Fugard – who was a known anti-apartheid movement supporter – tells the story of Thami, a young black student, and his relationship with his teacher, who attempts to help Thami learn that violence is not the answer in their common socio-political and de-colonial struggle.

The play was recently revived for the London stage, premiering at Tristan Bates late last month. If you go a chance to see it already, let us know what you thought in the comments below. Otherwise, if you have time between now and the 16th get your ticket here and enjoy!
