Travelling to Innsbruck

Getting there and away

Innsbruck is well connected by land and air.

  • For train travel and up-to-date fares please check out this website.
  • For travel by plane to Innsbruck International Airport please see here.
  • Instead of flying directly to Innsbruck another option is to fly to Munich (Germany) and take a shuttle bus to Innsbruck. Plane tickets to Munich tend to be cheaper because there is more on offer. The bus trip takes approximately 2 hours one-way and costs around €40 p/p for a return journey (see here).

Getting around: transport within Innsbruck

Innsbruck’s public transport is excellent and cheap. For prices and various ticket options please see here. As the city center is relatively small, walking is very doable (if not slightly hilly!)
